SOS welcomes Kai Lenny to the team

I have watched Kai Lenny windsurfing and surfing for years now, and all of a sudden he's 16! It's crazy how time flies. Kai is an all around water man, and excels at everything he tries. You can see Kai out on the water surfing, windsurfing, kitesurfing, stand up paddling, paddle boarding, canoeing, etc. He does it all! I was so happy when Kai approached me to get some surfboards. He had been hearing how good they were from friends, and got to try his friend Dean Christener's 5'8" GUPPY that I had made him. He walked into my shaping room a few days after that wanting his own. As Kai is an all around athlete and has the sponsors to prove it, I am honored to have him riding my surfboards.

I first made Kai a 5'6 GUPPY, 5'9" LIFT shortboard, and a 6'2" step up LIFT model. He was getting ready for a trip to Mexico with Ian Gentil and crew, and wanted to take a new quiver. When he returned home I got a written report on how each board worked, from small to big, mushy to hollow, very impressive from a 16 year old. He was blown away on the performance of each board, claiming his 5'9" to be the best shortboard he had ever ridden. I am happy to welcome Kai to the team.
